Pabaiga: 2025-03-27 18:30

Angelika Augustine intOn March 27th, 2025, 5 PM. Dr. Angelika Augustine will present results of her PhD project on self-disclosure in human-robot interaction and interpret these in the context of mental health care. She conducted a study on the associations of loneliness and the willingness to self-disclose towards robots and found that situational loneliness, induced by the COVID-19 pandemic, was positively associated with the willingness to self-disclose towards robots, whereas chronic loneliness showed no such correlation. Furthermore, she will provide an overview of studies on motives and risks of self-disclosure towards robots that inform about potential applications of robots in mental health care settings. Additionally, she will discuss robots and other emerging technologies in the broader context of mental health care.

The lecture will occur at the Faculty of Philosophy, room 214 (Universiteto str. 9, Vilnius).
