Hung Yen University of Technology and Education (Vietnamese: Trường Đại học Sư phạm kỹ thuật Hưng Yên) is a government-funded university in Hưng Yên Province, Vietnam. UTEHY is a public university managed by the Ministry of Education and Training with the strength in professional education. The university was established in 1966, at that time, it was called Hai Hung School of Industry, which was training specialists in two main fields: Mechanical and Electrical Technology. In 1979, the investment and support from the Vietnamese Government and the Federal Republic of Germany gave impulse to its rapid growth and development, it was renamed into “Technical Teachers Training College Number I”.
In 2003, it has become a major interdisciplinary university training specialists in a variety of branches such as Automobile, Chemistry and Environmental Technology, Economics, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Foreign Languages, Information Technology, Mechanics, Technical Pedagogy, and Garment Technology and Fashion Design. However, the top priority of the university is to train vocational teachers and technical engineers.
Today Hung Yen University of Technology and Education is one of the national technical pedagogy universities with high quality application-oriented training, striving to meet the increasingly diverse needs of Vietnamese society in terms of labour resources. The University has the study programmes in all three levels of HE and training: PhDs, masters, bachelors of science (engineers), bachelors of arts (BA) and technical teachers, with key research directions on Automation Technology, Mechatronics Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Automotive Engineering Technology, Material Technology (Nano), Biotechnology, and Information Technology (for more information see http://stem.utehy.edu.vn/).
