Seminar program: Social policies on aging, family, social inclusion, and poverty in Japan and Lithuania (23rd-25th October)

Day 1: Individual Research Reports

Reports on social security and policy along four themes: ageing, health, retirement; family, gender, birth; social exclusion and poverty; and the impact analysis of social spending. Researchers from Japan and Lithuania will present their findings alternately and discuss them. In this segment, each researcher will report on their specific area of expertise.

Day 2: Frontier of International Comparative Research on Social Security (Joint conference with Rikkyo Institute of Economic Research)

Reports on the specific features of cross-country and interdisciplinary research in economics, sociology, and social policy will be presented, and discussions about journals for English paper submissions will take place. Reports from researchers outside the project team are also being considered, therefore, a hybrid seminar, including online presentations, is being contemplated.

Day 3: The Frontier of Cross-Country and Interdisciplinary Research on Social Security (Joint conference with IPSS)

A seminar on research reports and methodologies using micro and macro data that enable international comparisons.

Additionally, collaboration with the National Institute of Population and Social Security Research, which Ando previously belonged to and where Fukai and Momose have research experience, is being explored.
