Š. m. gegužės 18 d. 11 val. kviečiame dalyvauti vizituojančio sociologijos ir aplinkosaugos profesoriaus Andrew Jorgenson (Bostono koledžas, JAV) paskaitoje „Development, Inequality, and Governance: Factors Influencing Sustainability in Regional and Global Contexts“. Paskaita vyks anglų kalba, VU Filosofijos fakulteto 201 aud. Skelbimas
Paskaitos anotacija:
In this talk I begin with a summary of my collaborative research on the effects of economic development and income inequality on carbon emissions, and how these relationships change through time. Next, I provide an introduction to the emerging area of sustainability research on the carbon intensity of human well-being, where we assess the extent to which development and inequality partially shape such socioenvironmental relationships. I provide examples of these two areas of research that focus on global samples of nations as well as studies that focus explicitly on nations in Central and Eastern Europe. I conclude by describing recent preliminary research where we investigate how forms of regional governance and macroeconomic integration influence the emissions of fossil-fuel power plants in nations throughout Central and Eastern Europe.
